A Better Me: Changing Up My Eating Habits #1

Thursday

Fortunately for me, I have a genuine love for the majority of most fruits and veggies but for one reason or the other I tend not to eat them as often as I should.

My fellow Africans may be able to relate when I say that our diet can sometimes be pretty high in fat and carbohydrates especially.

Due to this, it's come to my attention that I really could've been taking much better care of myself than I have been doing. You know that feeling you get when you've just been eating too many of the wrong things? It does something bad to your mood, well at least to my mood, and I've just had enough, really.

As I've purposed to start off by making wiser choices with my meals beginning this week, I'm also choosing to adopt a better and healthier attitude towards my overall general health.

Lunch
Chicken, sweetcorn and spinach salad with a few plum tomatoes

Spinach is a superfood containing many vitamins including B,C, K, potassium, iron and many more. It has countless benefits including helping maintain healthy bones, improving your complexion and promoting hair growth.

Dessert
Fruit salad of bananas, strawberries and diced pineapples.
(No Rick Ross Pun Intended)

Although we read in the news all the time about serious health issues that are caused as a result of poor diet and lack of exercise, we sometimes view it from a detached perspective, subconsciously thinking it could never happen to us. God forbid it does, however I want to live my life to the fullest and be in good health to enjoy every experience. What I don't want is to live a life of regret because I didn't develop the correct habits in my youth.

I am not a dietician nor am I a health expert, and this for sure is not a weight loss journey.
I'm just showing you guys a bunch of meals I'm choosing to eat and as documenting all this benefits me, I hope you guys find some benefit in it also.

Take Care and God Bless,

Fofo x
