I happened to find this little beauty on cosmetics4less.net, an online makeup store based in Scotland (woop woop!). They also sell brand names like L'oreal, Rimmel, Maybelline etc. at heavily discounted prices so if you're looking to save a few coins building your makeup stash, I'd definitely have a look there.
The Saffron Simply Nude Box Eyeshadow Palette at first glance gives me those typical "cheap makeup" vibes.
I'm not even going to talk about the box it comes in but just know I don't plan on keeping it.

The palette itself is as basic as basic gets (which is probably why they had to "glorify" the box so much) with a simple clear lid displaying all 12 eyeshadows; the only character this palette has.
However, at the end of the day, the product itself is what's most important and I can't expect too many embellishments for £2.99.

I was shocked to say the least. The look of the packaging does not do the product justice at all.
Yes, there was some chalkiness (in some colours more than others) but for £2.99, I wouldn't expect it to be fall-out-free. For the price, the colour pay off you can achieve without a primer is fabulous! This palette contains eleven shimmers and one matte black shade, so a makeup beginner could quite happily use this palette alone.

Yes I had a Saffron Palette before. Unfortunately mine didn't smell floral - it smelt like chalky chemicals ... eventually I got tired of having it in my collection and not using it so I threw it out (what a snob). I do remember having 2 or 3 shades I did like but felt like it didn't justify having the whole palette.
