Nizz Cosmetics Review: Bold & Beautiful Lipsticks

Nizz Cosmetics

"London based cosmetic company for those that dare to be different. Bespoke, bold and vibrant products, inspired by fashion and a passion for colour. Launched in 2012, NIZZ specialises in statement lip colours to suit all skin tones and occasions. Packed with all natural products including peach kernel oil, NIZZ softens and conditions your lips without irritation and is rich in Vitamin E."

I'd heard about Nizz Cosmetics from some other bbloggers a long while ago but it wasn't until I started following them on Instagram that I really started lusting after their amazing products. Instagram can get a girl into trouble you know...

Fortunately for me, I had the fabulous opportunity to be sent four of their lipsticks to try out and I was elated to say the least. Everything came very well protected and nicely packaged and there was also a friendly note which was a thoughtful touch.

Here are the colours I received:

 Purple Haze (Lustre)

Lip liner used: Nicka K Lip Pencil in 'Dark Purple'
An intense purple-blue perfect for the Spring/Summer months ahead!
I used a purple lip liner to try and keep the integrity of the lipstick but if you want to tone it down, you could try a brown.
(See the video below to see how this looks with brown lip liner.)

 Noir Black (Lustre)

No Lip Liner
Hands down, the best black lipstick I have ever tried.
Other black lipsticks can sometimes pull quite green/blue on my deep skintone but this one is a true black.
No games, just black.

 Virgo Blue (Lustre)

No Lip Liner

Lip liner used: Nicka K Lip Pencil in 'Indigo'
In person, this colour appeared to be more of a deep teal than a blue.
However, on camera, it seems to be quite the opposite. Either way, the colour is still beautifully intense and I've never owned a colour like it before.

Purple Nectar (Matte)

No Lip Liner

Lip liner used: MAC 'Currant' Lip Pencil
A deep purple-plum colour, definitely the most wearable out of the bunch!
I think this may be a dupe to Illamasqua's lipstick in 'Shard'. I don't own it but by comparing pictures, they look almost identical.

Review
Just as they claimed, these lipsticks are indeed extremely moisturising, pigmented and comfortable to wear.

Don't be fooled by the term "lustre", because those first three shades (Purple Haze, Noir Black & Virgo Blue) are highly pigmented and not as glossy as you might imagine. If you are bent on having a matte finish, this can easily be achieved with some translucent powder.

The matte formula (Purple Nectar) has this velvety feel to it which makes it really easy to wear. It's also extremely long lasting; I didn't keep track of time but I remember not having to touch up at all throughout the day.

The lipsticks do have a smell to them but I think that's maybe from the natural ingredients that have been used such as almond wax, coconut oil etc.; once it's on your lips, you don't notice.
Other than this, I don't think there's a bad word I can say about these products.

Nizz Cosmetics have a vast range of colours on offer from grey to gold to even yellow!
However, if a yellow pout ain't your thing there's also an excellent selection of reds, nudes and pinks so there's something for everyone.

Follow them on Instagram (@nizzcosmetics) to see how these lipsticks, and others, look on a whole range of skintones.

Take Care and God Bless,

Fofo x

  1. I've never heard of this company before. So, if anything happens I'll "blame" this post and not instagram ;) *Checks Website* not a bad price either ... Its kinda like Bite Beauty but a UK version ... I'm loving the purple shades the most, although the others do still look lovely.

Watched the video - you have a Scottish accent! Fabulous ... Virgo Blue is all kinds of wonderful in live colour. Thanks for sharing :) x
